Selective Vascular Procedures

Dr. Chua spent a year of peripheral vascular fellowship with DR. H. Ed Garrett at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis in 1976-1977. Dr. Garrett originally was in partnership with Dr. DeBakey and Dr. Cooley at the Texas Heart Institute. He was one of the pioneers in the field of coronary bypass surgery.

Dr. Chua practiced extensive vascular surgery early in his career and has performed multitudes of vascular procedures on the arteries and veins from the head to the foot . He helped Dr.Gerald Dorros to start the peripheral balloon angioplasty and the abdominal aortic aneurysm stent graft program at St. Luke’s Hospital, as his back up surgeon in the 80’s.

Dr. Chua has extensive experience in the placement of arterio-venous fistula for dialysis access. He trained with Dr. Edward Saltzstein at Sinai, and with Dr. Myron Kaufman and Dr. Dereck Sampson at the Medical College of Wisconsin.
